SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio police now have the prime suspect in a shooting death that dates back to April of this year.
Officers took 28-year-old Tyrell Desean Jones into custody Tuesday morning after having obtained a warrant for his arrest in May.
Investigators think Jones shot and killed 22-year-old Castatroy Barnett inside of a house on the east side. Police say surveillance video captured images of Jones leaving the house with a gun in his hand. According to an arrest warrant affidavit, witnesses reported that Jones was the only person in the house at the time of the shooting and it is believed that the two men knew each other.
The investigation into why Barnett was killed continues.
Jones has a criminal history that goes back as far as when he was 18 years old. He has faced charges that include organized criminal activity, evading arrest, and now murder.
Jones was booked Tuesday afternoon and his bond set a $250,000.
