SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — While electric scooters have been a significant inconvenience in parts of San Antonio, they are creating a much bigger issue in Richmond, Virginia.

WTVR-TV reported Monday Bolt Mobility has been offering their electric scooters on the streets of Richmond for a little more than a month.

The scooters have been well-utilized — and well-vandalized.

Video shows people cutting these scooters in half and also setting them on fire.

Officials with Bolt also told the television station people have been taking these rental scooters inside their homes — defeating the purpose of making them available to the public.

The television station said Bolt will continue to operate in the city, while providing education on properly utilizing the scooters.  Richmond police and fire are also doing their own investigations into the vandalism.
