SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A fire at a West Side Wendy’s Monday night caused thousands of dollars worth of damage.
KSAT-12 is reporting that firefighters got the call from the 4400 block of West Commerce at around 11 P.M. just as the restaurant staff was getting ready to close for the night.
The smoke and flames were coming from the roof where firefighters found what is the likely cause.
A nest that was near the spot where the fire started has investigators thinking birds caused an electrical malfunction that sparked the fire.
The restaurant will be able to reopen after a health inspector determines it’s safe.
No injuries were reported.
