Extra fencing installed around Alamo on Election Day

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Extra fencing is being installed around Alamo Plaza as a precaution in case of civil unrest following the election.

Yellow plastic barricades and blue fencing already surrounded much of Alamo Plaza, including the Cenotaph, because of construction. Part of Alamo Plaza Street also is closed at Crockett Street as crews work on underground utilities, but Tuesday morning, a sliding gate was in place that could close off the front entrance to Alamo Plaza at a moment’s notice.
The Shops at Rivercenter have boarded up doors and windows, as have other downtown businesses.
