Faulty power strip cause of fire on San Antonio’s West side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A shorted out power strip is the cause of a fire at a West side home.

Firefighters were called to the 800 block of Southwest 39th Street at around 10 P.M. Monday.

They were able to keep the fire contained to one room and no injuries were reported.

According to the Electrical Safety Foundation International, faulty power strips are responsible for more than 3,000 house fires every year.
