SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — San Antonio police are continuing to follow up on leads in the disappearance of 3-year-old Lina Khil.
Those leads prompted the department to bring in the FBI Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team to search a nearby creek, Police Chief William McManus said.
“I wish I could be more uplifting,” McManus said. “I know this looks like we’re really onto something, but all we’re doing is following up on leads. We don’t want to leave anything to chance.”
McManus said investigators will be out until dark tonight and will return tomorrow to continue their search, noting that there is still a lot of analytical work being “behind the scenes.”
“I wish I could give you more uplifting news, but there isn’t any,” McManus said.
Lina went missing on December 20 from the playground in her apartment complex. An AMBER Alert remains active.
