SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A post-game handshake turned into fisticuffs at a San Antonio college basketball court Monday night.

KSAT-12 reports that it happened following the game between the University of the Incarnate Word and Texas A&M Commerce.

The game ended with the Lions defeating the Cardinals in overtime, 76 to 72.

But as players from both teams shook hands at court side, fists started flying.

Coaches and officials tried to break up the fight but players from both teams continued throwing hands for about a minute before heading into the locker rooms.

According to ESPN a young girl who was a by-stander was hurt as players fought on the court.

It’s not clear on what started the fight but both schools and the Southland Conference issued statements that they are reviewing the matter.

The Southland Conference added that they will look at video footage of the fight and issue “appropriate disciplinary action”.
