Fire causes $40,000 in damage to two businesses on the Northeast Side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A couple of businesses near Fort Sam Houston have been damaged by a fire that broke out late Tuesday night.

Firefighters say they were called to the 1900 block of Shipman Drive at around 10:30 p.m.

The fire was reportedly started by a commercial dryer in a laundromat.

A neighboring sporting goods warehouse was also damaged by the fire.

Crews say both businesses suffered smoke damage estimated at $40,000.

There were no injuries reported.
