Fire forces guests to evacuate hotel on San Antonio’s Northeast side

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Guests at a Northeast side hotel had to evacuate when a fire broke out early Friday morning.

It was just after 4:30 A.M. when the call came in from the Quality Suites on IH-35 Northbound near Weidner and O’Connor.

It appears the fire broke out in the attic before spreading to the third floor.

The rooms on that floor were damaged by the fire and there is water damage throughout the rest of the building.

All 19 guests at the hotel escaped with two needing medical attention for possible smoke inhalation.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause.
