Fire forces residents to jump to safety from burning San Antonio apartment building

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Residents had to jump from their balconies in order to escape as fire burned through their apartment building.

Firefighters got the call from the Oak Creek Apartments on Vance Jackson at around 12:30 A.M.

All of the residents in the 8 unit building were able to get out but some had to jump to safety because the smoke and flames made it impossible to get out through their doors.

One person was checked out for smoke inhalation.

They will all have to find a new place to live because the building has been severely damaged.

Investigators are still looking for the cause.
