Firefighters battle explosive blaze in South Bexar County

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Investigators are probing an explosive fire in South Bexar County.

The blaze erupted just before 5 this morning in a shed behind a home on Black Powder at Wilted Oak.  Firefighters first thought ammunition was setting off explosions, but Bexar County spokeswoman Monica Ramos told KTSA News small propane tanks were stored in the structure.

One firefighter was hurt, but he refused to be transported to a hospital.  Damage is estimated at $10,000.

KSAT- TV reports a  fire erupted around 4:30 Monday morning in a shed behind a home on Black Powder at Wilted Oak.

Ammunition was going off when the first crews arrived, but the fire did not spread to the home. There were no injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine how the fire started.
