Firefighter struck by minivan suffers life-threatening injuries

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A San Antonio firefighter has been critically injured after being struck by a vehicle just east of the downtown area.

Woody Woodward with the San Antonio Fire Department told KTSA News firefighters were checking out a report of smoke at Comfort Suites on Live Oak Street when the accident occurred around 6:30 this morning.

One of the firefighters was standing in front of a fire truck when he was hit by a small van. He was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It turns out, there was no fire at the motel.
