2-alarm destroys Church’s Chicken
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A two-alarm fire has destroyed a Church’s Chicken in the city’s East Side. About a hundred firefighters battled the blaze around 2:30 this morning at the restaurant on S. New Braunfels Ave. near Nevada Street.
“Our immediate concerns were a home about 10 feet away from the Church’s Chicken, and a day care center behind that home,” said Woody Woodward with the San Antonio Fire Department.
It’s considered a total loss.
“We will be working with the city of San Antonio, the dangerous structures people, to see if they will have to begin demolition of this structure quickly,” Woodward told KTSA News.
They suspect the fire may have started in the kitchen, but investigators may not be able to determine the exact cause because of the extent of damage.
