EASTLAND, Texas (AP) – Firefighters in Texas have made progress against a massive complex of wildfires that have killed one person and burned at least 50 homes.

Texas A&M Forest Services spokesperson Matt Ford said Saturday that the wildfires near Eastland were 25% contained as reduced wind speeds and lower humidity improved firefighting conditions.

That area is about 120 miles west of Dallas.

Officials warn that fires could also affect parts of Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska and warned of an extreme fire risk in those states.
