Fireworks spark fire at San Antonio apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Officials are looking for two people who were setting off the fireworks that sparked a fire at a Northwest side apartment complex.

When the call came in at around 9:20 P.M. Wednesday, it was believed someone was shooting a gun at the Aspire apartments in the 1800 block of Bandera Road.

But when first responders arrived, heavy flames were burning through one of the buildings.

4 apartment units were heavily damaged and all of the residents got out safely but will have to find new places to live.

A firefighter had to be hospitalized after injuring his knee.

The people setting off the fireworks are still at large. Police are hoping statements from witnesses will lead them to the pair.

The dollar amount on the damage hasn’t been released.
