Former Border Patrol agent admits to child porn charges

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A former Border Patrol agent has pleaded guilty to possessing and producing child pornography.

Federal prosecutors said 37-year-old Vernon Millican of Leakey pleaded guilty to a count of each crime in a San Antonio federal courtroom Thursday.  Millican worked in the Del Rio sector and was assigned to the Uvalde station when he was employed by the federal government.

Millican admitted that he used multiple devices to produce and possess visual media of himself sexually assaulting a prepubescent minor and showing the minor engaging in sexually explicit conduct between April 2015 and June 2018.

The former Border Patrol agent was arrested in late January after a search warrant at his home.

Millican faces between 15 and 30 years in federal prison when he is sentenced next January.
