SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — There is now a sixth candidate running for mayor of San Antonio.
Former City Councilman Clayton Perry announced his candidacy on KTSA Morning News with Trey Ware on Friday. The three-term City Councilman says he will be prioritizing more police for the alamo City, citing a shortage of officers that falls below recommendations.
Current mayor Ron Nirenberg’s fourth term will come to an end on May 3, 2025.
Perry joins three sitting council members who have announced their plans to run, including John Courage, Manny Pelaez and Adriana Rocha Garcia. Other candidates include former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos and tech entrepreneur Beto Altamirano.
