Former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos announces run for Mayor of San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — With San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s time in office set to come to an end next year, the list of candidates looking to replace him is growing.
The latest to enter the race is former Texas Secretary of State Rolando Pablos.
According to the Express News, Pablos entered the race Tuesday .
Pablos tells the Express News San Antonio needs “visionary leadership” and he’ll bring much needed change if he wins next May.
He goes on to say his focus will be on reducing violent crime in the city and address the affordable housing issue.
Before his time as Secretary of State, Pablo served as commissioner of the Public Utility Commission of Texas and as chairman of the Texas Racing Commission.
He is the fifth candidate to enter the race for Mayor.
The others are council members Manny Palaez, Adriana Rocha Garcia and John Courage along with businessman Beto Altamirano.
