SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – A teenager accused of breaking into a West Side home is recovering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Police say the 14-year-old was shot during a burglary around 2:30 this morning at a home on Westville Drive near West Military Drive.
A woman told police that she and her fiance’ heard noises around 2:30 Monday morning and saw flashlights shining through windows. She claims several suspects got into the home through a rear bedroom window.
Her fiance’ grabbed a gun and opened fire. A short while later, the wounded 14-year-old showed up at a fire station on Culebra Road with his father. The boy was transported to University Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
He faces a burglary charge.
