Funeral services for Bexar County Deputy Floyd Cardenas set for next week

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office says funeral services for a Deputy who died in his sleep are planned for next week.

41 year old Deputy Floyd Cardenas died at his home Thursday.

A public viewing will take place Monday, August 30 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. at Mission Park at 3401 Cherry Ridge.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 31 at Community Bible Church on North Loop 1604.

The 18 year sheriff’s office veteran had no known underlying health issues. He is survived by his wife, their two children, his parents, two sisters and his K9 partner, Tango.

The Sheriff’s Office posted the following statement on social media:

“Deputy Cardenas was the heart of the SWAT team, as he was one of the lead trainers that undertook newly joined SWAT operators and helped teach them the inner workings of the profession.
Deputy Cardenas will be greatly missed.”
