Funeral services for Bexar County Deputy killed by wrong-way driver to be held Tuesday morning, funeral procession to travel along Highway 281

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Funeral services for Bexar County Deputy Meredith Portillo will take place Tuesday morning.

Portillo was killed by a wrong-way driver on I-37 July 21.

The funeral procession will leave Mission Park Funeral Home South on Southeast Military Drive between 9 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., then travel along Highway 281 to Cornerstone Church on Stone Oak Parkway.

Once the procession arrives at the church, an honor walk with a horse drawn carriage will take place before the memorial services.

Honors will be rendered in the church parking lot following the memorial service.

A private burial for family members will take place following the committal service.

Deputy Portillo was 20-years-old and began her career with the BCSO in September of 2023.
