Garage Party Takes Deadly Turn

A late night garage party at a Northwest side home takes a deadly turn.

“At some point, an individual pulled out a handgun–with the understanding it wasn’t loaded. He pointed that gun at the victim, pulled the trigger, and fired one round” SAPD’s Officer Douglas Greene told KTSA News, describing the shooting at a home on Star Creek–near Culebra and Westover Hills just before Midnight Tuesday Night.

That shot struck and killed 14-year old Melody Cerros. At that point, everyone scattered–leaving San Antonio Police to piece together exactly what happened leading up to the gunfire.

“That suspect information led us to a Mr. Ryan Rodriguez–who was located in the 9500 block of Valley Dale” Greene said.

The 19-year old was arrested without incident. Rodriguez now faces a manslaughter charge.
