Gas Prices Starting to Climb in TX

Have we finally reached the end of the line when it comes to those free falling prices at the gas pump?

New Numbers from AAA Texas suggest that might be the case–with the statewide average price per gallon of regular unleaded holding steady in the Lone Star State over the last week.

The Auto Club’s Doug Shupe told KTSA News it comes as refiners are likely beginning to shift some gears.

“Typical for this time of year, refineries begin to reduce their production, as many of them prepare for the seasonal maintenance season” Shupe said, adding demand for gas will soon be climbing as well.

“Spring break is right around the corner, just a few weeks away Shupe said.

A look at the numbers shows the average prices in many Texas cities actually climbed over the last week. The San Antonio average did fall by another two-cents per gallon.
