SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — She fronted the first all-female band to score a number 1 album on the Billboard chart before launching a successful solo career.

Belinda Carlisle is bringing her catalog of hits to San Antonio in November.

Carlisle first gained national exposure as the lead singer of the Go-Go’s. Their songs filled the airwaves and lit up television screens tuned into MTV. After having a string of hits in the early 1980’s with “Our Lips Are Sealed”, “We Got The Beat” and “Vacation”, the Go-Go’s split up.

Carlisle found herself back on the charts as a solo act in the later half of the decade with “Heaven Is A Place On Earth”, “I Get Weak” and “Mad About You”.

She rejoined her band mates for a reunion in the 1990’s and and in 2021 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Go-Go’s.

Carlisle will occasionally hit the road as a solo act and will take the stage at The Tobin Center Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 P.M.

Tickets for the show start at $36.50 and go on sale at 12 noon this Friday, April 22.
