Governor Abbott to hold press conference at the border Wednesday afternoon

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Governor Greg Abbott will hold a press conference from the Eagle Pass International Bridge Wednesday afternoon.

He’s expected to provide a briefing on the state’s response to the border crisis.

Since a truck loaded with dozens of illegal immigrants was found in San Antonio Monday, Abbott has been laying the blame on President Joe Biden’s “growing border crisis”.

51 people have died and several more are still in the hospital after they were found in the back of an 18 wheeler on San Antonio’s Southwest side on a day when the temperature was above 100 degrees.

They immigrants had no food, water or fresh air.

Since then, Abbott has been the target of much of the blame.

Many Democrats at the local, state and national level are saying Abbott’s border policy known as “Operation Lone Star” is a failure. Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar accused Abbott of using Monday’s tragedy as a “campaign strategy”.

Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff says the state of Texas has done “everything wrong”.

The Governor is scheduled to speak at 2 P.M.
