Group sues the city of San Antonio to keep Cenotaph in it’s current location

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) —  The next Battle of the Alamo will take place in a federal courtroom.

A local group is taking a legal approach to keep the Cenotaph from being moved.

The Alamo Defenders Descendants Association is suing the city of San Antonio in federal court.

ADDA President Lee White says they’re  hoping to have the Alamo grounds declared an unverified cemetery.  She says more than a thousand people have been buried under the Alamo and remains have been uncovered for generations.

San Antonio City Council approved the Alamo Master Plan last year and part of it calls for the Cenotaph to be moved to a another location on the Alamo grounds.
