H-E-B tree arrives in San Antonio Tuesday morning

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The coronavirus is resulting in fewer people spending time downtown but that’s not stopping the spread of holiday cheer.

One of the centerpieces of Christmas in San Antonio rolls into the city at 9 A.M.Tuesday morning.

The H-E-B Christmas tree arrives at Travis Park.

The nearly 50 foot Con Color tree has been making it’s way here from a spot in Northern Michigan and once it’s set in place, the decorating begins.

The tree will soon sparkle with more than 10,000 red, white and blue lights and dozens of handmade ornaments.

Due to the coronavirus, the tree lighting ceremony on Friday the 27th will be a virtual event that H-E-B will stream live on their YouTube Channel. They’ll flip the switch at 7:20 P.M.
