UPDATE: All’s clear at a North Side Costco Wholesale store

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Officials at the Costco Wholesale store on Loop 1604  near Highway 281 were hoping to reopen the store on time after a hazmat situation early this morning.

The San Antonio Fire Department responded to a report of a problem with the system that stores hundreds of pounds of refrigerant around 5:30 this morning.   Battalion Chief Brooke Hildreth told KTSA News that overnight employees were told to evacuate the building and a hazmat crew checked out the place.  The company’s technicians worked on the repairs and employees were allowed back into the store around 7 a.m.
