Heat advisory in effect as heat indexes predicted up to 110

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A heat advisory was issued for the afternoon into early evening and city officials want to remind residents that cooling centers are open.

According to the National Weather Service, the heat advisory begins at noon and runs through 8 p.m. due to high heat indexes that are expected to reach as high as 110.

The city is operating cooling centers with special hours today and will continue to operate under regular hours for the rest of the week.
