Heavy rain expected to soak San Antonio Wednesday afternoon and evening

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Expect Wednesday to be a washout.

Aaron Treadway at The National Weather Service is predicting a round of heavy rain to soak San Antonio Wednesday afternoon and evening.

“Heavy rainfall will definitely be a threat. Damaging winds will be a threat and then there’s the possibility of large hail.”

He says the line will push through the Hill Country early Wednesday afternoon. NWS is predicting the highest chances for severe weather will stay to our north.

“San Antonio is definitely getting some rain. The rain, wind and hail are the biggest threats. Any chance of an isolated tornado is not out of the realm of possibility but we’re not looking at that. We’re looking at the wind and the hail threat.”

He says the chance of some flooding is high due to the amount of storms that have impacted the area in the past few weeks.
