HEB Christmas tree to arrive at Travis Park Tuesday morning

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — It’s going to start looking a LOT like Christmas in downtown San Antonio this week when the HEB Christmas tree arrives at Travis Park.

The 50 foot Nordmann Fir is set to arrive at 9 A.M. Tuesday.

Once it’s set in place, work begins to decorate it with more than 10,000 lights and dozens of handmade ornaments.

The San Antonio based grocery chain commits more than $250,000 each year to transport, decorate and light the tree.

The lights on the HEB tree will be turned on during a celebration taking place Friday, November 25.

Starting at 3 P.M. there will be a big holiday party with crafts, music, a holiday movie screening, ice skating, and a visit from Santa. The annual illuminating of the tree will take place at 6:20 P.M.

This is the 38th year that HEB is supplying the tree that thousands will be able to enjoy during the holidays.
