High speed chase ends in a foot race in Southwest Bexar County

UPDATE 4:11 p.m.:

San Antonio police have identified the suspect as 37-year-old Brendan Crozier.  He has been charged with aggravated assault of a police officer.

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A chase that began in San Antonio comes to an end in Somerset in Southwest Bexar County.

It started at 2 A.M. Thursday when an officer spotted a vehicle belonging to a man that had some outstanding warrants.

The officer approached the vehicle that was parked on Rustleaf Street but when he tried to talk to the driver, he sped off, dragging the officer a short distance then slamming into his cruiser.

The chase ended less than 20 miles away when the driver ended up on a dead end street.

Officers caught him as he tried to run away.

A woman who was in the car with him was brought to a local hospital with a back injury. The officer who initially approached the man had a minor injury to his wrist.
