(Texas News Radio) — A Houston-area doctor who touts hydroxychloroquine as a cure for the coronavirus is doubling down on her stance that the anti-malarial drug is a cure for the virus.

Katy physician Dr. Stella Immanuel told KPRC-TV that she has prescribed it, seen it work on her patients and will keep prescribing it.

“Yes! It eradicates the symptoms.  It eradicates the virus,” Dr. Immanuel told the Houston TV station.  “We see patients day one, we put them on hydroxychloroquine, they come back in seven days to test and they are negative.  It eradicates the virus.  It is a cure.  I don’t know why people are getting crazy about this.”

Most of the medical field disagrees with her and many social media platforms have censored videos of her in Washington touting her own evidence.

Among those who disagree: National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci.

“Ask Dr. Anthony Fauci: When was the last time he saw a patient?” asked Dr. Immanuel.

The doctor said she has treated more than 400 patients with hydroxychloroquine, but did not have any records to back that up.
