Human remains found near Seguin ID’d as missing 16-year-old
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The body of a missing Southeast Texas 16-year-old have been confirmed to be found near Seguin.
Benjamin “Tank” Loera has been missing from Vanderbilt, a small town east of Victoria in Jackson County, since October 26. His body was found on December 20 after a man who was looking to buy some property on FM 1117 in Seguin was conducting a land survey.
The Travis County Medical Examiners Office used dental records to confirm Loera’s identity.
On Dec. 6, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office described his disappearance as “a planned criminal episode and not a random act of violence.”
The Victoria Advocate reports that Kyler Ray Rector, 19, and Casey Wayne Jenschke, 23, were charged suspicion of aggravated assault with intent to commit serious bodily injury and aggravated kidnapping.
An unidentified 15-year-old girl was hit was the same charges and has been booked into the Victoria County Juvenile Detention Center.
Rector was charged on November 23 and Jenschke was charged Nov. 29. Both remain in custody at the Jackson County Jail.
Court records indicate that Jenschke was arrested in Bexar County on a charge of unauthorized use of a vehicle on November 9, but the charges were dropped on Nov. 29 after an investigation by the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office.
Officials said additional charges have been filed against Rector, Jenschke and the 15-year-old girl since Loera’s identity was confirmed today, but did say what they are.
