Hunting and fishing licenses for coming year now available

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The new hunting season is coming up soon, and you can now purchase new fishing and hunting licenses for 2022-23.

Licenses for the current year will expire at the end of August.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department says more than 2.7 million hunting and fishing licenses are purchased each year in Texas, and the funds brought in for the state help pay for Texas Game Wardens, fish stocking, wildlife management and habitat restoration.

A variety of licenses can be picked up online at the official TPWD website, or by phone at 1-800-895-4248. Licenses are also available at more than 1,800 retailers around Texas.

Hunting and fishing regulations for the 2022-23 season are available online at outdoorannual.com, and also on the Outdoor Annual mobile app, which is free and allows access to important information in remote areas.

If you never want to pay for a hunting or fishing license again, a $5-dollar entry will give you the chance to win the ‘Lifetime License Drawing,’ with three winners to be chosen. The entry deadline is September 30.
