Hurd Pushing New S.A. Training Mission

Congressman Will Hurd pushes for a new training unit at Joint-Base San Antonio.

“With the 149th Fighter Wing at Kelly Field, outstanding year round flying conditions, extensive hanger and servicing capacity, and strong community support from Military City USA, Joint Base San Antonio is the textbook location to assume additional FTU,” Hurd wrote in a letter, pushing the Alamo City has the perfect location for the new F-16 FTU.

The United States Air Force is considering bases around the country that meet requirements for the new F-16 Formal Training Unit. They’ll make a decision later this year.

Hurd’s letter touting San Antonio was also signed by Congressman Henry Cuellar and Congressman Lamar Smith.
