Husband of missing woman granted hearing for examining trial
SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A man charged with murder after his wife disappeared in early October is getting a hearing for an examining trial.
It means Brad Simpson could be getting out of jail.
KENS 5 is reporting Simpson’s attorney requested the hearing last week because the murder charge comes despite the fact that Suzanne Simpson has yet to be found, dead or alive.
Police presume the mother of four is no longer alive because she has not been seen or heard from since October 6. Multiple searches have taken place, including one lasting a week at a local landfill, and yet nothing has turned up.
Investigators now believe Brad spent much of the day after his wife was last seen covering up his tracks, but this has yet to be proven.
Neighbors told police they saw Brad trying to restrain Suzanne the night she went missing. Police believe the couple had been fighting for much of the evening prior.
Brad was initially arrested two days after Suzanne was reported missing. He was charged with family violence and illegal restraint, but weeks later police charged him with his wife’s murder.
This is a developing story and KTSA News will give more details when possible.
