Increase in Immigrants at Border

No end in sight to the number of immigrants being apprehended along the border with Mexico.

Congressman Henry Cuellar says the number of families border agents catch has climbed 171 percent in the past year.

“Then you have to factor in the number of unaccompanied minors being apprehended. That number has climbed by 102 percent.”

Cuellar says part of the problem is money that was used for National Guard aerial coverage has been cut in half.

He says the amount of drugs flowing into the country continues to grow as well.
