SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – It’s only Monday, but if you’re already looking forward to Friday, how about a tequila tasting and a photography exhibit at the Institute of Texan Cultures.

A panel of tequila experts and photographer Joel Salcido, who shot the Aliento a Tequila exhibit will be on hand for the program.

“It’s a visually exciting exhibit that takes you to the regions of tequila production and gives you a chance to experience what is going on in those regions of Mexico,” said Amber Pfifer, director of Advancement at the UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures.

Guests will walk through the exhibit and then go into the dome area to enjoy tequila samples.

“We have brought in various partners from across the industry to provide samples to our guests and to explain the flavor profiles that you’ll experience behind the tequila that you are tasting,” said Pfifer.

They’ll also have samples of mescal.

“We have some additional partners that are complements to tequila, such as our partners at Twang. They produce salts and sugars and rimmers for different types of cocktails,” said Pfifer.

The event is scheduled from 6 to 9 Friday night, Nov. 8, at the Institute of Texan Cultures. Admission is $12.  You must be 21 or over to attend.
