SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — After Ivy Taylor lost the race for Mayor of San Antonio in 2017, she seemingly disappeared from the public eye.
Now there’s word that Taylor will be the next president at a historically black college in northern Mississippi.
Rust College Trustees announced that after an 8 month search, Taylor will be the 12th president of the school.
She will succeed David Beckley. He’s been Rust’s president for 27 years.
Taylor served as mayor of San Antonio for three years and represented District 2 on San Antonio City Council for five years.
Rust College is located in Holly Springs, Mississippi and was established in 1866. It has an enrollment of about 800 students.
