Jack Riccardi: Just A Minute, “Indians Tagged Out by ‘Guardians'”

New name for the Cleveland AL team.

Comes from a famous landmark there, the Hope Memorial Bridge (the Harry Hope for whom it’s named was Bob Hope’s father).

I’m good with change, just hate to see it driven by fear or cringe. Was this what the team’s owners, and MLB, wanted to do, or did they feel like they HAD to?

By the way, nice reuse of the “d-i-a-n-s” part of the logo! If those things cost by the letter, very economical!

Reminds me of Lee High School becoming L.E.E. a few years ago.
