JBSA-Lackland security officers return fire on shooter outside Chapman Training Annex gate, no injuries or arrests reported

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Security Officials at Joint Base San Antonio Lackland returned fire when bullets started flying their way early Saturday morning.

It happened at the main gate of the Chapman Training Annex on Ray Ellison Boulevard.

At around 2 a.m., someone started shooting at security guards stationed at the gate.

They couldn’t see who was shooting, but could hear the bullets whizzing by them.

After the shooting, more guards were added to the gate but about two hours later, a vehicle stopped on Medina Base Road and the occupants began shooting at the Air Force security officers.

The officers returned fire on the shooter’s vehicle.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the shootings and a press release from JBSA-Lackland states they do not believe the shooters are affiliated with the military.

The investigation into the shootings continues.

This is a developing story and KTSA News will provide updates when more information is released.
