Judge Orders Clean Up at Applewhite Tire Dump

The clean up may finally soon begin at a South San Antonio eyesore.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has obtained a temporary injunction ordering the owner of what was the Applewhite Tire dump to clean the property up.

Under the order, Eclipse Renewables must remove more than one-million tires that have been sitting on the property–disposing of all but five-hundred within 180 days.

State Representative John Lujan has been pushing the cleanup effort recently. He has called the property a health hazard, and neighbors have repeatedly complained about mosquitoes.
