SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Looks like Julian Castro is going to be in the Presidential race a while longer.

The former HUD Secretary and Mayor of San Antonio has achieved 130,000 unique donors for his campaign.

That’s a key qualification to be included in the Democratic Primary debates that are coming up in September and October.

“I’m grateful to all the people who have supported our campaign, helping us reach the first two debates,” said Secretary Julián Castro. “As our message spreads, we gain more and more supporters. I’m going to keep working hard every day to share a positive vision for our future and show that I am the candidate who can beat Donald Trump.”
According to a new ABC News/ Washington Post poll, Castro’s numbers have been improving since the first Democratic debate in June. He’s now coming in at 4 percent.

The Castro campaign has met the criteria of receiving 400 donations from at least 20 states.
