SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — He may be polling in the low single digits and his campaign donations aren’t going to break records but…Julian Castro can say he’s at the top of one list.

Twitter is reporting that the former San Antonio Mayor has the most tweeted remark following Tuesday night’s debate.

The social media website says the Castro comment came while he was arguing against a mandatory gun buy back program. He brought up the recent shooting of a 28-year-old woman who was shot in her own home by a Fort Worth police officer.

“A cop showed up at 2 in the morning at her house when she was playing video games with her nephew. He didn’t even announce himself and within 4 seconds he shot her and killed her through her home window! She was in her own home! So I am not going to give these police officers another reason to go door to door, in certain communities because Police violence is also gun violence and we need to address that.”

This is the second Democratic primary debate where Castro finds himself tops in “Twitter-verse”.

His exchange with Joe Biden in the last debate, when he seemed to mock the former Vice President’s age, was the most tweeted about moment.

Meanwhile, the other Texan running for President continued his call for a gun buy-back program.

Beto O’Rourke argued his point about getting assault style rifles off the street during the debate in Ohio.

“We’ve seen the devastating effect that they can have in Dayton, Ohio or El Paso, Texas or Odessa, not too far from where I live. Those must be bought back.”

Beto added that he’s not calling for “confiscating anybody’s guns.”
