Karnes City ISD closes schools for two days because of COVID-19 cases

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – Schools in the Karnes City Independent School District are closed Thursday and Friday after several staff members tested positive for COVID-19.   That will allow time for a deep cleaning of the buildings.

Superintendent Hector Madrigal says the local health department is notifying individuals who may have been in close contact with the infected staff members.

“We do not have reason to believe that those who were not in close contact with the infected individuals have reason to be
concerned,” said Madrigal in a written statement.

All classes and normal activities are scheduled to resume Monday, October 19, 2020.

A letter to parents says possible symptoms of COVID-19 include a fever, sore throat, uncontrollable cough that causes difficulty breathing, severe headache and or diarrhea, vomiting or abdominal pain.
