SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A San Antonio woman was shot by a Kendall County homeowner when she tried to break into her house Wednesday afternoon.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said the homeowners were in the living room of their house on Kendall Parkway at around 2 p.m. Wednesday when they heard a knock on the door.  The knocking became louder and then there were continual rings of the doorbell.

A woman in the house went to the door and cracked it open.  The woman outside — who she didn’t know — forced her way into the house.

The two argued and then fought before the homeowner grabbed her pistol and shot at the intruder — later identified as Fabiola Martinez — six times and the suspect fled.

With the help of Boerne police K9s and a San Antonio police helicopter, Fair Oaks Ranch police officers were able to find Martinez and arrest her without issue.

She was taken to an area hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to her ear.

Martinez has been charged with Burglary of Habitation.
