Kerr County man charged with murdering his roommate

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — The Kerr County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man on charges that he shot and killed his roommate.

Deputies were called to Beaver Road in Ingram at around noon Sunday.

When they arrived, they found 57 year old Dennis Crawford Jr., dead from a gunshot wound.

His roommate, 52 year old Brad Way was there as well. What Deputies have been able to piece together so far is that Way and Crawford were involved in some sort of physical altercation.

Way allegedly shot Crawford at close range.

Way has been charged with murder and is at the Kerr County Jail. No bond has been set.

Investigators are still working to determine why the men were fighting but they do believe alcohol was a factor.

Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha released the following statement:

“We are saddened by this senseless loss of life in our county. All too often, disagreements escalate and spin out of control. In this case, either party could have walked away and diffused the situation before lethal force was used. This outcome did not need to happen. We offer our condolences to the families involved and thank the Texas Rangers for their assistance in evidence gathering and investigation.”
