Khalid performs karaoke at San Antonio barbecue restaurant

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) – The folks at a local barbecue restaurant are still talking about a surprise visit from a major Pop and R&B singer. Khalid and friends showed up Monday night at Smoke BBQ Restaurant on East Commerce Street near the Alamodome.

They ordered dinner and Khalid even provided some unexpected entertainment. He performed several karaoke numbers, including Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”  with a baseball game playing on the big screen behind him.

After his impromptu numbers, he posed for selfies with employees and customers. Smoke BBQ owner Adrian Martinez posted on Facebook that he asked Khalid how the singer found out about the restaurant. Khalid replied that he googled ‘best downtown BBQ.”

Khalid is in town for a concert tonight at the AT&T Center as part of his “Free Spirit World Tour.

Maybe he’ll show up at Mi Tierra and sing with mariachis
