BEXAR COUNTY, Tex. (KTSA News) — One Kirby firefighter is facing an assault charge while another is recovering after getting punched in the face at Kirby’s fire station Wednesday.

KSAT-TV reports the two firefighters were arguing over voting.  That dispute flared up and ending with 29-year-old Joshua Gonzales punching the other firefighter.

Documents say the victim told Gonzales he was “being a dumbass for not voting.” That statement got him “clocked in the face.”

The victim was taken to SAMMC for treatment.

Gonzales was arrested Friday and charged with assault causing bodily injury.

Court documents say several Kirby fire employees were around when the dispute happened, but only two witnessed the assault.
